compression ratio

How do I change compression ratio of DLT from 1:1 to 2:1? Using 7 tapes robotic library. Thanks.

You CANNOT specify a compression ratio.

All you can do is specify the compression, either software or hardware is included on the job description. When the job runs, compression will take place, but will vary depending in the type and content of the data being backed up.

Until a specific share has been backed up several times, I use 1.3:1 as a "Real World" compression ratio to estimate how many tapes a give job will require, or how many jobs will fit on one tape.
