creating disk space

I am running both Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1.5 and BUEXEC 2014 on the same server. I just notice that the space on my C drive is going down pretty rapidly. Are there files that I can delete in order to maintain disk space? Are there also automated ways to have these files(if any) be deleted on a schedule?

Thanks.

Do you know if this is related strictly to SEPM or BUExec? Which directories are taking up the most space?

In regards to SEPM, there are a few articles you can have a look through:

How to free up disk space on a Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager server

Hi,

Please ensure there are no debugs running in the background.

As .Brian has requested, which directories consume more space?

If it is the LOGS folder in C:\Program Files\Symantec\Backup Exec, there should be debug logs that get collected.

If it is the Catalogs folder in the same location, then we may have to look into ways of having the catalogs truncated as per your requirement. You may check the Truncate catalogs option referring to http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH192529

If you are not comfortable truncating the Catalogs, you may try moving the catalogs to a different drive. Please refer to http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH29603

There are a lot of steps that can be done. It would be much helpful if you could let us know the exact directory that consumes more space.

What are the directory paths in which to compare? Since I recently did the SEP upgrade last week, I would be more inclined to think it was that program causing the issue. However, it would be best to confirm by checking the appropriate folder(s) first.

C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager would contain all the files/directories related to SEPM

SEPM is over 11GB

BUEXEC is about 6GB

For BUEXEC, I moved the catalog folder to a different partition. Is there something you can do similar for SEP?
