Lets say I am doing differential backup daily from monday to friday. I have 5 tapes (one for each day). After monday and tuesday backup, I ll still have data of monday and tuesday on wednesday's tape even though I am inserting a different tape in?
Yes. Differential backups means that what ever changes between the last full backup and the differential backup will be captured. In your example, your Wed. diff. backup will have Mon, Tue and Wed changes.
