BE for Windows 10
After installing Windows 2003 server R2 on a file server the job ends with that error message.
Already tried this http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/263822.htm
Upgraded to BE 10.1 rev 5629, the same error message.
DFS is installed but not enabled.

Hi Mandalina,

"e00084af - The directory or file was not found, or could not be accessed.": This error will occur when AOFO is used to backup all the partitions of the server in a single job.

You can refer to the following documents.

http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/261831.htm and

Please revert if we have not understood your problem.

Actually, I'm not using AOFO and I'm tring to backup only one partition on server.
I'm pretty sure that the issue relates to appling R2 on w2003 server (file server). It started just after installing R2, and I don't have this issue on other servers.

Hello Madalina,

- Could you tell us, on what files are you getting this error?
- Also is this a remote Backup that you are getting Problems with or Remote?

Well, after the second reinstall of the Remote Agent 10.1d the problem was solved.

The server is a remote one and is just a usual file server (words, excels, pdfs ..).

I am getting this error on a new win2k r2 server with sp4 on 10.0 v5484. Does the 10.0d update correct this problem and if so how do I go about getting it?

You can download version 10.1d from here:
http://support.veritas.com/docs/279332

For me the upgrade&reinstallation of agent solved the problem.

Hi
I'm glad I found this forum. I had the same problem after installing R2 on my file server. My Backup Exec version was 10.0 v5484 with SP3. Now a have upgraded to 10.1d + SP1 and everything works fine again!

Thanks!
