I've played some time ago with encryption, but I forgot to change the compression type (by default is on hardware). Encryption with software compression works fine!

You can download version 10.1d from here:http://support.veritas.com/docs/279332 For me the upgrade&reinstallation of agent solved the problem.

If the netware password was longer than 8 characters, use just the first 8 characters from the password when trying to catalog the tape.
