error occurred while connecting to the Remote Agent

I am getting the following error when backing up a Windows 2003 SP1 server:

V-79-57344-33899 - The resource could not be backed up because an error occurred while connecting to the Backup Exec...

I have reinstalled the RA and verified that the service is running. The BE service account is already a part of the Domain Admins group. What else should be done to resolve this problem?
