exchange 2003 mailboxes items access denied - V-79-57344-33928

Hi,

Certain items in our mailbox backups continuously fail with the V-79-57344-33928 access denied message. I've checked the link which just states that this is a permission issue but I'm not sure what to do as the account credentials used for the mailbox backup is the exchange full administrator and passes the test option in the account credentials screen.
Are they corrupt items? Do I need to modify the permissions on those items mailboxes somehow? Do I need to use a different account?
Any ideas on what I can do to fix this would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Ian

Hello Ian,

What version of Exchange are you using?

Is it a local backup or a remote backup?

Does this error occur while backing up a single mailbox or multiple?

Are you using the Advanced Open File Option for the mailbox backups? If yes, then it is recommended not to use this option fro database backups like Exchange,SQL and Lotus Domino.

Stop the Antivirus if running and then verify the results.

You could also try creating a new user for test purposes, give it domain admin, local admin and Exchange full admin rights. Then try a backup.
