execview install problem

Hi

Installing just backup exec is fine. But when i try to install Execview in addition to Backup Exec 10 ( or even afterwards) onto Windows 2000, the installation fails saying the install wizard was interrupted.

The server already contains J2SE runtime 5.0. .

The bkupinst log file had the following entries.

The failure notes i am getting are slightly different, it even appears as if the VERSION of JRE is installed when lookig in installed programs in control Panel. But ExecView won't install. It complains about the installer being interuppted before it could install the product.

The Java installs fine but then when i try to re-install the Execview component it again fails saying "The wizard was interupted before BE could be completely installed.

It doesn't seem to care|know that Java is already installed on the system

Which server will the ExecView Information Server (EIS) server reside on?

Is the EIS server machine centralized to the media servers being monitored?

Are the latest builds of ExecView being used?

The server that the execview component is not installing on has Backup Exec v 10 revision 5484 installed.

The EIS will reside on a different server.

The EIS is irrelevant at this stage as we can't get the ECM agent installed

Can you also upgrade to BEWS 10d and try installing latest build of ExecView ?

Still no luck, downloaded the version from the link you suggested. And it still fails. When i look at the install log it fails around installing the Java component.

Please down load and install the latest Version of JRE from this link
:
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4/

Once JRE is installed, try installing the application once again.
