failire occurred querying the writer status

I'm running the backup of Exchange 2003 server from a server running BE 10 ver. 5520

In the last 2 days I got the following error:

A failure occurred querying the writer status. Writer name: exchange server. Last error: the VSS writer failed, but the operation can be retried., State: failed during freeze operation (9).

Any idea?

What are you backing up on the remote Exchange server? Refer to the following technotes which provide steps and gudelines in order to resolve the problem:
