*filename in Unix not backing up

My company is a software developer and files that are created with *filename in unix are not being backed up, *folders back up properly but not files. We are constantly in development and cannot be looking for new files created with *s to be manually added all the time. We are currently using additional tape drives to do backups within Unix but would like to add our Unix machines back to Backup Exec. Any suggestion?

Sorry I didn't specify that were using AIX 5.2 so we use the Legacy agent not the Ralus agent.
