forcing backup of locked files

I see from this FAQ:
http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/249090.htm

that you can force backup of locked files. For example from this part:

In Backup Exec 9.x and 10.x for Windows Servers, the open file backup settings, when the Advanced Open File Option (AOFO) is not installed, can be accessed through the Advanced tab in the Backup Job Properties dialog box (Figure 4).

We have that set but still MS Access and Excel files that are still opened by users won't get backed up and the reports show "...in use - skipped."

Any way around this?

Hi,

If the OFO is not installed or selected, Backup Exec, by default, will attempt to back up open files with a lock. If the files cannot be backed up with a lock, prior to skipping the file, Backup Exec will wait up to 30 seconds for the file to close prior to continuing the backup. Database applications that are being backed up outside of the Backup Exec Agents should be excluded from the root of the hard disk being backed up to increase backup performance.

Update us on the same and revert for any further Query
Hope this will help you

Thank you
Gauri
