i am geeting this error again and again when i restart the service,its starts working.i am using server 2008 sp2 and using backup exec 2010 r3.

1) In BE console check if the tape drive is online
2) Make sure the tape drive is detected by the Windows device manager
3) Install latest Symantec drivers for the tape drive
4) Check if there are any unattended alerts in the alerts tab

i am not using tape drive,i am using HP Storage x 1600 i am backing up on disk, its a network share,

If your job is targeting the All Device pool, then you should change it to target the specific B2D folder.

it is specfic to a particular specfic B2D folder,Amol if i change the B2D folder then how will i move the data in backup as it is,.

You can simply move the B2D files to the new folder and then run an inventory on the new folder.

i Have created a new share with the full right but still facing the same issue,
