Hi

i have EMC NAS Storage ix4-300d and i want to backup shared data

i added  a linx server  and task was successful 

when i want to backup NAS Storage the  the issue stoped with error brows failure (error attached in file attachment

i hope you help me

Hi,

 

Unless you've added in that NAS to AD you're going to get that issue...try going in via \\IP_Address and see if this resolves it.

are you mean AD or DNS i added recod in DNS 

i didn't understand going in via \\IP_Address ?

Sorry, DNS...you've added the NAS via server name in BE...try adding it with the IP address instead.

...ok, in your hosts file, create an entry pointing to the NAS.

I know those NAS arrays can integrate into AD so it MIGHT be an option, but you need to read up on this first before doing it.

Also make sure that the NAS local admin account has been loaded into BE under the Network and Security drop-down menu, and when you browse the NAS use that account.

...is there an antivirus/firewall running on the NAS? If so, turn them off and try again...

2 last things to do:

1. Check the BE 12.5 HCL and make sure that the NAS is listed on the HCL;

2. Make sure you have a Remote Agent licensed on the media server.

In the Backup Exec UI, click on Tools - Options and choose Preferences.
