I currently use backup exec 12.5 to back up my servers and was going to extend it to include desktops.
I was quoted about £10 a desktop for a PC agent which is OK.
However when it came to my Macs I was quoted about £120 per unit because Symantec do not have a Mac desktop agent only a Mac server agent. The use of the server agent to back up a Mac desktop seems over the top.
So 50 PCs come out at £500 and 50 Macs are £6000!
I talked to a polite but unhelpful sales agent at Symantec who said "yup that's it" basically your are stuck.
What are other people doing is there any alternative with backup exec?
