I've been fighting with some issues with a new install of BE 12.0. Tape library is a HP StorageWorks MSL5026S2. Jobs are requesting that I insert overwritable media when I have tapes that are overwritable within the media set or in scratch. I also get a lot of alerts where it claims the tape is write-protected when it is not. Another issue I have seen that has followed on to the new server from the previous server that was running 9.1 is that some tapes get misidentified as cleaning tapes.
The issue with overwritable or write-protected can sometimes be resolved by exporting and reimporting the tapes. Not sure what is going on here. I ran HP's utilities against the tape library and it's not reporting any issues but the library is the only thing that stayed the same between the servers.
