Hi,

With regards to your query,

As per our understanding of the issue, the network connection to Backup Exec Agent has been lost could be due to numerous reasons. Please check the following:
1) Make sure remote agent is running and the remote agent license is registered on the media server.
2) Make sure that the details given in the logon account are proper.
3) Ensure that the versions of the remote agent is same as the media server on all the places. Reinstall the remote agent if there is a mismatch in the version.
4) Verify the duplex settings of the NIC's change it to 100 Full Duplex.
5) Rerun the backup job after rebooting the server and verify the results.
We would also like you to go through this Technote :
http://support.veritas.com/docs/258159
Note: Also try running backup job using "user defined selection" in order to isolate the problem.
6) reduce the priority of the remote agent.
7) Let remote agent use any possible network if you are using a dedicated network for backup and restore. Select this option from TOOLS -> OPTIONS -> NETWORK
8) Defragment your machine and verify the results.
9) Ensure that you have unselected the Progressbar from TOOLS -> OPTIONS -> PREFERENCES
10) Please perform a repair database. Open BEUTILITY.EXE from \program files\veritas\backup exec\NT.
Select All media server by right clinking, add the media server and select repair database from the task pane on the left.

If the issue is not resolved, Please perform a repair install and verify the results.

We hope this will help you.
