"Difference encountered in file data" error upon verify

Spontaneous events of this nature will pop up. We're using Veritas BE for Windows 9.1 SP3. Any ideas?

From the log:

Job Completion Status
Job ended: Thursday, October 06, 2005 at 4:35:31 AM
Completed status: Failed
Final error: 0x0 -
Final error category: Other Errors

Verify - \\servername\Microsoft Information Store\First Storage Group Difference encountered in file data.
The file Mailbox Store (servername)\Mailbox Store (servername) is different.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hello ,

Make sure you create a dedicated backup job for the Exchange resources, disable AOFO (is this is installed), scan the mailbox stores also.

This error usually occurs on the Exchange side, due to a database inconsistency or fragmentation. Have a look on the Microsoft web site for ESE tools options.

I have verified AOFO is disabled, the job is dedicated and I have recently defragmented the DB.

Any other options?

Try to backup Exchange with NT Backup send it to disk turn on the verbose logging. If the job work try BackExec again and let us know what the results were.

With respect to "NT backup", you mean the Microsoft Backup Utility (%SystemRoot%\system32\ntbackup.exe)?
