Get the error message "ERROR: Ad hoc updates to system catalogs not recommended. Use the RECONFIGURE WITH OVERRIDE statement to force this configuration" when trying to install either SP4 or SP4a for BEv9.1.

Hello,

Please do the repair installation of Backup Exec using the below mentioned technote:

Repairing Backup Exec 9.x and 10.x for Windows Servers
http://support.veritas.com/docs/253199

After repair installation try to install the SP4a and check the results.

Hope this helps you.

Regards

No, running a Repair installation did not fix the problem. It was unable to complete successfully because the same error occured during the installation process.

Also, I do not agree with your statement "If we do not receive your reply within two business days, this post would be marked "assumed answered"". We are dealing with a production system here and our change management procedures require 5-7 days notice. The only way I was able to test this within your two days was because I just skipped CM, which is not a desirable.
