remote IDR agent possible for 9.1?

I have backup exec ver 9.1. We bought an IDR unlimited client license for ver 10. After much fan fare I was able to get a converted license to IDR 9.1. Now I want to install a remote IDR agent on a remote server. I heard something about sharing out a folder from the Backup server, then running a command line switch from the remote server to have the IDR option installed on the remote computer? But then I heard that in 9.1 there is no such thing as an "Unlimited client IDR option", and that only exists in ver 10. any thoughts?
