hi all, i am trying to backup a remote server from media server, but whenever i tried to expand the remote server it gives an error saying "could not connect to the server servername. a network connection caused the problem." but when i go back to remote server, i can only remote agent crashed. this happens everytime. remote agent on both the servers are same version, i tried reinstalling with no luck. it is working fine for another remote server. but not for this one where exchange 2010 is installed. this is driving me nuts. can someone please help. symantec support is no use on this issue. thanks

Check the event viewer on the remote server.

What version of BE are you using?  To backup Exchange 2010, you need BE 2010 and the media server must be a 64-bit machine.

all the servers are 64 bit. i have BE 2010 and exchange agent installed on same server along with exchange management tools. but the exchnage server and databases are on member server where remote agent installed.

the event viewer for application comes with this error
