restore backup exec 9 netware to 12.5 windows?

is it possible to restore file from a tape create with BE 9 for netware onto a windows server running 12.5?  I can inventory and catalog the tape.  the recovered files are unreadable. at this point.  the names and directory structure is correct when restored.

It should in theory allow you to read and recover from previous versions.
How is your restore structured?

It is a single  backup tape.  The tape was made on a netware 5.1 box with be 9.  I am doing a redirected restore to a windows 2003 server running be 12.5  I can inventory and catalog the tape, I can restore the files.  when I try to open the files they are not readable.  this is true of every file I have tried on 3 different tapes.

BE on Windows writes to tape using Microsoft Tape Format.   I doubt that BE on Netware is writing to tape using this format.  If it is a different format, then it could explain your problem.
