sequential drive backup operation

i have 2 LTO-3 tape drives.

is it possible to configure Backup Exec 2010 so that i can load a tape into each drive then start a backup run on one tape drive and if it exceeds the capacity of the tape, it will continue the backup operation on the second tape drive?

I guess you are using standalone tape devices. The backup will not span to a

tape which is in the other tape drive.

Hi,

I guess the feature which you are trying to use here is cascaded  drive pools.

This feature was supported in previous versions of Backup Exec.  Unfortunately Symantec has removed this feature from BE 2010 (I am still wondering why they did that though)
