I have backup exec 2010 installed on server 2003 latest updates and hot fixes installed. i need some assistance in setting up the alert , emial notification in BE 2010 without an exchange server. how do i set this up this is a stand alone server. I just want BE to email my gmail account when the back up is complete and any other alerts. I know this probably been asked million times but is there a guide for this. I do not recall how to set this up. thanks in advance.

If I am not mistaken, BE 2010 does not support authentication so it cannot use external e-mail service like g-mail. You need the latest version of BE to do so.
BTW, are you aware that MS is ending support for BE 2003 in a couple of months time?
