ok ...
if we have backup of a VM's VHDX file and that VM fails .. we can bring back the VM from our backup with same functionality as before ..right ? and do we need to activate the windows after that again ?
Even without taking backup of individual files ,can we restore the individual files from VHDX backup ?
I saw a demo on Veeam backup & Replicaiton software which is exclusively for VMware nd Hyper-V which supports replication too... is there any option in backup exec 2012 which gives the functionality of replication
thanks

Yes. You should not need to activate WIndows again

Yes. If the VHDX disk is less than 2TB. See this document

Re: replication. This term can mean a lot of things. Describe exactly what you are looking for and I can see whether that functionality exists in BE. As it is, BE is does not do replication between machines.

Replicaiton : Here is the scenario
we have 2 host machines running hyper-v where we have 6 VM's(guests) on each machine. we have 4 VM's where we need to replicate the same to other host.applictions are
File server ,print server ,DC ,utility server
If the File server(VM) on 1st host goes down or the host itself goes down ,we need to have the same replica on the 2nd host ,so that we can kick in the file server on 2nd host to be active and perform the tasks. It's something like Acitve ,Passive functionality or failover feature.
Do we have the same or similar functinality in symantec ,which can do this ?
Thanks
