Hi,
As the dedupe process runs, your dedupe results will get better. So it explains how it deduped 3GB down to 51MB.
However, the dedupe folder and rates can grow with any subsequent backup depending on how the data being backed up grows, or whether or not you're adding in extra files and information.
There is a dedupe assessment for Backup Exec, but you need to be a partner to access this...best bet, seeing as how you are one, is to log onto Symantec's PartnerNet site and download the tool from there.
It's targeted at BE, but might actually still be valid for your environment.
Thanks!

Ok ... In that case how will we delete the de dup data or backup the de duped data to tape drives or some other location if the data is hash values ... if want users to free up there network drive when it gets full how will it be possible with De duped .
