2007 SP4 - Outlook add-in question

My clients have 2007-sp2 add-in installed. When I upgrade to EV 2007 SP4, will the client functionality be "impeded" in any way, while they're waiting for us to push the SP4 add-in?

The upgrade doc states "If you are upgrading either type of user extensions, we recommend you also upgrade the Exchange Server forms." 

As part of the upgrade, I would upgrade the forms (I assume), but will this cause issues with the older add-in?

No.

Server and Client are always at least one version backward compatible.

As you can see in the Compatibility Guide (Page 9 currently), you would still be able to access EV 2007 SP4 with Version 6.0 of the EV Client.

However, you will of course not be able to use the "latest" features of the client.
