Autonomy connector question

Hello,

The company that I am working with is adding Autonomy to their environment and is looking to add a connector to EV. In talking with Symantec the connector is completely separate from Symantec and nothing needs to be done to the EV system other than allowing the connector to have access. So here is my question, what level of security does the connector need? I will not give the VSA info to them but am not sure what is needed and was not sure if anyone has worked with connectors that might know?
