Deleted accounts in the Archive

We have deleted numerous accounts from the archiving\mailbox folder. These accounts immediately show marked for deletion, but they never appear to be deleted. We have accounts that have been in there for months and still show up in the mailbox folder with a status of marked for deletion.

We are running EV SP5 and utilizing Centera for storage.

Is this the normal behavior for these accounts to stay in there, or is there a way to cleanup these accounts.

Thanks for the help!

By accounts you mean archives...which correspond to storage on the Centera. What mode are you running on the Centera partition that stores these archvies; and what partition config in EV? You probably have un-expired items and can't delete the archive until the expiration passes (or until you run the expiry..which you may not be doing by choice).

Hi Aaron,

I'm experiencing the same problem. Mode "For all Centera Models". There is a single partition in several vaults;Shared Archive Items;Connection pooling with several IP; The problem exists in all of environments. With one vault, I'm not sure of the original Retention that was set, but with a second vault that was recently created the Retention period isn't a factor. We are running ver5 sp5;file ver: 5.0.5.5970. Any help would be appreciated. Roland

If the Centera is in Compliance Mode or Compliance+ mode, then you won't be able to delete anything until the retention period has expired. If those Archives are eligible for deletion, running Storage Expiry from the site settings will usually delete the archives. If they still don't disappear after running, expiry, restart the storage service as well.

Now, one thing to keep in mind is running Storage Expiry will expire all items older than it's retention so this is something to be careful with if you don't want to expire items in active archives.
