Hi
When running the EV archiving task, nothing gets archived or stubs don't get deleted.
Manual store in vault / restore from vault from the client side works perfectly.
No errors in event viewer logs.
Report mode shows "No of items ready to archive" 0

Hi Rob / Tony
Archiving is now working when I run it manually after the weekend, not sure what resolved the issue.
Once again thanks for all the valuable input provided.
Cheers Andrew

Can you do some screenshots of your policy for the users in question?

Hi
Please find attached, we set the days to the minimum as possible, nothing happens.
We have recreated the policy, vault store partition as well.

So if you create a brand new user, provision them, enable them for archiving, and put some oldish PST data in to the inbox, what happens there?
Has anyone run any EVPM scripts to set "Do not archive" on any of the folders? If you use the Outlook DCOM client, you can check the "Mailbox" ie "Top of Information Store" level, and Inbox, for example.
Is the user suspended from archiving?
You can find this out by right clicking on Exchange under Targets, and doing Display Policies.. and entering this user.
Is the user disabled from archiving? [Granted that would normally mean that the buttons in the client wouldn't be visible, but if you were enabled, and left Outlook open, then disabled them.. manual archiving would still work, but scheduled probably wouldn't] You can find out if they are disable by looking in the ExchangeMailboxEntry in the Directory database in SQL
Have you tried dtracing the archiving task?
PS Your last screenshot, where you delete shortcuts older than one day is probably not advisable.

Created a brand new user called "test" provisioned and sync'd mailbox's.
The buttons do not show in outlook.
Cannot locate user "test" when right clicking on Exchange under Targets, and doing Display Policies.. and entering this user.
Not sure what you meant by checking - If you use the Outlook DCOM client, you can check the "Mailbox" ie "Top of Information Store" level, and Inbox, for example.
How do I find out if they are disable by looking in the ExchangeMailboxEntry in the Directory database in SQL. Using SQL Query Analyzer ? What query do I run ?

You say you provisioned and synced, did you enable?
Do the provisioning groups have the option to archive this group checked?
He wanted you to right click the Inbox and choose properties. If you use the full client there will be an EV tab there.
SELECT *
FROM ExchangeMailboxEntry
If the MbxArchivingState is 0 they haven't been enabled, if 1 they are enabled, if 2 they were disabled. If there is any 3 that means they were Re-linked
For disabled mailboxes
SELECT *
FROM ExchangeMailboxEntry
Where MbxArchivingState = '2'
For new mailboxes
SELECT *
FROM ExchangeMailboxEntry
Where MbxArchivingState = '0'
For enabled mailboxes
SELECT *
FROM ExchangeMailboxEntry
Where MbxArchivingState = '1'

The 'test' Mailbox enabled now, picked that up from SQL - thanks.
All other mailbox's are enabled , except for the Enterprise Vault System Mailbox for EXCH.
The vaultadmin account is enabled.
That is correct - we use the full client, there is an EV tab there.

Thanks for all the input thus far, test mailbox displaying EV buttons, I have generated approx 40 emails into the inbox, will let you know have archiving goes by Monday.

Well okay you can see the EV tab, but on the "Mailbox - XYZ" (ie the Top of the Information Store) and on the Inbox .. what does it say for the user(s) that aren't getting anything archived?
With your test user you can always do a run-now on the task...
