EV not working after Exchange mailbox corruption

James_Herbert

We recently had an outage on one of our exchange mail storage groups. As a result, 2 user mailboxes were corrupted. All other users were migrated to a new storage group but we had to create completely new mailboxes for the 2 corrupted users.

Each of these users had a local cache of their mail so we exported what we could to a pst and then imported back into the new mailbox. EV shortcuts that were imported can no longer be opened and the Outlook client for each user does not have any of the EV add-ins. We assume the problem stems from the fact that the users have new mailboxes.

Also, no new mail is now being archived (again, assume this is down to new mailbox). We cannot add the user into EV as a new user because they are already listed.

Is there any way we can fix this problem so that the user is re-associated with their EV vault store?

Are you able to synchronize those mailboxes?
Do the mailboxes show in the enabled mbx wizard?

They may show as a new mbx because there isn't a hidden message. You can try and enabled them and select their current archive.

If the hidden message is missing then EV Client doesn't know the mbx is enabled, hence the add-in doesn't work.
