EV restore single messgae.

is it possible to do an item level restore from ev? Ie if someone deletes an archived message that is a couple of years old how do we go about restoring it?

If you are on EV 2007 with the Dumpster enabled and it is within the defined time period (14 days by default) you can use that.

If you are on an earlier version you will most likely have to do a restore in a lab environment unless you can determine the savesetid and are able to find it on a backup tape.

If you're not on EV2007 this functionality is not included.
We got a tool in development with the name "EV Delayed Deletion", which would take care of this in previous EV Version.
