EV70SP3 - Storage Expiry - Catastrophic Failure

Hello,

Recently I am seeing an issue in the eventlog with storage expiry on 1 of our 9 journal servers.

Category - Storage Delete
Event - 6606

Failed to process all expired items in Vault Store.
Catastrophic failure  [0x8000ffff]
Vault Store Name: JNL0111
Vault Store Id: 148F6C2A5A6938140B0E4CC04D48EED1D1210000DMS

I already stopped/started services, restarted task. This journal server has two EV-partitions, one closed, one open.

Journaling seems to be working fine.

Has anyone seen this before, is there a way to better troubleshoot this?

What device are you storing to? (NTFS, Centera)?

Hello Mark,

We're using NTFS. 2nd line storage (which is used after 10 weeks) is also NTFS, but via an HP FSE server.

The 2nd line storage is via networkshares.

Are the permissions in place to allow the Vault Service Account to delete items from the stores? The error is saying it has problems deleting (expiring) the items.

I would advise opening a support case and then we can look at DTRACEing the process to see what it comes back, doing DTRACE on the boards is a bit of a nightmare!

Issue seems to have disappeared, possibly due to upgrade to ev2007sp2.

Will keep an eye on it.
