Hi mates...its new guy on the block!!!!..Good Day for All!!!!!
i have Ent Vault 6.0 SP3 + "slf" license file sent by symantec...
the problem, neither during installation nor after installation Ent vault 6.0 SP3 ask me to register, import license file???
i have delved deep into features of Ent. Vault administration console but found none to import "slf" license file.
 
The  license file sent by symantec does not contain any relevant information apropos to license reigstration...
Please help me out in this connection as i have to install Ent Vault 6.0 SP3 on server and deadline is verging on day by day!!!!!

slf license keys are only used with EV7.
 
EV6 keys are text based.
 
Which version do you want to use?  I would suggest EV7 SP1, which you can download from here - http://support.veritas.com/docs/287904
 
If you want to use V6, you will need to contact Customer care so they can get a hold of the correct keys.

Ok...then please guide me as to how can i contact relevant person in symantec to get text-based keys for EV6.0 SP3 or give me email ID to contact....

on net i found a method which recommends that i need to copy license information file from "slf"(by opening it in a notepad file) and place it in a enterprise vault directory.the name of file should "keys_<servername|>.txt" and at another site the syntax is "<servername>_keys.txt"
suppose here is the text of "slf" file..then ..where can i find licensing information there...

please guide me in this regards so that i can license this product.Furtermore, there is no explicit description of licensing Enterprise Vault 6.0 SP3 on syamtec Customer Care Center webpage....

You need to call customer care and get them to convert  the license for you, or alternatively supply you with correct ones for your product version.
 
To get you up and running you could log a case with support a nice Engineer will provide you a temp license key to get you up and running until you sor thte license issue out with customer care.
