How to export archived mails from general archive to PST file

We have Enterprise vault 10.0.3.

Can I export mails from general archive to PST file just like we do in mailbox archiving.

I found below tech not for the same. where in it is mentioned that you need to export it first to basket and then to PST, but need to make changes in web.ini file to achieve this

We also know that it is achievable using DA but we do not want to use that option either.

since there are more than 10000 items which we want to export, we are looking if there is any other way available in enterprise vault server itself to accomplish this.

You can right click the Archives node in the VAC, and do Export Archive ...  you can select Shared Archives there.

Is that what you mean by general archive?

Well the technote which you are referring is for exporting items which you have searched in browser search.

If you want to export contents from Journal Archive (I believe thats what you mean by general archive) then refer following technote which will guide you through the steps. You can use Export archive wizard to export Journal Archives to PST files. In this technote, you can refer the video as well for the steps.

You can edit the WebApp.ini to allow the RestoreToPSTOption.

One caution, this is not designed for mass searching and exports, so as long as the criteria is specific it should be ok.

Also if it was just one item from the WebApp search you could just click the View Whole Item button and save the mail as an .msg and send it to them that way.

One thing to keep in mind is that the Web Search isn't intended for large scale export\restores. So if you are talking 10,000 items you will want to break those down into smaller chunks.

If you use Discovery Accelerator that might be a better option.

I would not recommend trying to use the WebApp for 10K+ items.  You have DA, that would be a better option, IMHO.

Question ... Why you do not want to use DA to perform this task? Is there any specific reason for that? If you are tying to export one archive only, using Export to PST from VAC would be your first option I think. It might take a while since there are more than 10k items on the archive, but it will work.

I think we need to go back to the original question and clarify with the OP what a general archive is.
