How to restore arhived files when placeholder shortcuts is implemented?

Hi to all,

When using placeholder shortcuts, it is known that you cannot browse  using archive explorer to search and restore. Is there any other way to do this?

In case that the archived item is deleted from the vault store, is there any other way to restore the specific file without doing a disaster recovery restore of EV to another machine?

What exactly are you trying to do?

Restore a single element from archive, or do you want to bulk restore?

In case the archived file gets deleted from vault, your possibilities will be very limited.

It is possible to restore a single item as far as I know (haven't done it yet), but it involves Symantec support.

They have a tool called "DVSChecker" which can "repair" the database out of DVS files.
