How to turn on report during archiving in EV 7?

In EV 7, is there a way to generate a report during archiving so we can see which mailbox is being touched at what time?  A report like the one created by checking "run in report mode".   "Run in report mode" only generates the report, but does not archive.  We need both at the same time.

Thank you.

To be honest the recommendation is to to exclude the Temp directory from being virus scanned for this very reason, a lot of times the virus scanners will give you false positives that an item is in fact a virus.

If you have a AV on the gateway, on your exchange system and on your endpoints , theres no reason to believe that it would only be discovered on the EV Server to be honest.

The TMP file you are referring to is created by Enterprise Vault as you correctly stated:

there is unfortunately no way to do that, you can get statistics after the fact either by SQL Queries, or SQL Reporting Services or during the archiving run you can run some perfmons against the EV Performance counters, but other than that , you would have to run a heavily filtered DTrace permanantly

What is the reason for wanting such a report?

I am also interested to see similar posibilities. This kind of report will help us to understand the number of mails arechived and number of mailboxes EV task touched in the last Background Archival window. By analyzing the same we can indentify whether server is ower loaded or not.

One of my client keep on report that some users are complaining there is no mail archival hapening over night even though they have lot of mail ready for archival.

that is easily gotten through SQL queries, if you wanted to you could get details down to the users folder of where items came from if you so wished....

We need to know at what time a mailbox is being archived because McAfee is reporting trojan found on those tmp files (~Dxxxx.tmp) created by EV.   We think those tmp files are created when EV archive emails and try to convert them to HTML for preview.  If we know at what time a mailbox is being archived, we can match the time with the time stamp of the tmp files and try to identify the mailbox that may be the problem.

Anyone has any suggestion?  Is there any EV logging we can turn on to provide info that would be useful for this situation?  Any idea would be appreciated.

Thank you
