Latency returning search page when trying to search vaults

Nick_Simmonds
Level 3
http://KVSServer/EnterpriseVault/search.asp from IE

and from within Outlook http://KVSserver/EnterpriseVault/search02k.asp?server=mailserver&mbx=SMTP:user@domain&version=5000

Both these requests take more then two minutes to return a page. Does anyone have any idea as to why this may be and what can be done to remedy.

Look forward to your responses.

How many vaults do you have permissions on?

Hi Nick

For a start it would be good to get a dtrace of StorageonlineOPNS and W3WP when doing a search request to see if/where there is latency within the EV processes.

When exactly do you get the delay? After clicking on the link / after submitting a search request or after recalling an item from the result set? Or all of them?

Do you have the same issue if you use Archive Explorer or go to Search.asp/Searcho2k.asp directly.

Cheers

Do you have an ISA server or any other proxy? If so you may need to put the server in the intranet sites. This can be done through the EV Admin.

DTrace results

The delay starts as soon as you click on the Search Vaults icon within Outlook. This kicks off the search02k.asp page request.

I have tried running this in IE and get the same issue. With Archive Explorer the page tries to load but never eventuates which is similar to the other attempts.

Sorry about the dump that comes next but couldn't find a better way to get it to you

Where about in EV Admin can I find the option to insert such settings. We make use of ISA.

Policies -> Exchange -> Mailbox -> Default Mailbox --- Goto properties --> Advanced Tab -> List Settings From and select Desktop go into the setting for Add server to intranet zone. Add in the fqdn of the server http://ServerName.domain.local and a wild card http://*.domain.local. Then go into the tasks and syncronize you maibox archive tasks.

You have lost me - I don't have a polices option in my Enterprise Vault structure.

I am using version 5 with SP5. Are you referring to the same EV Admin that you can open from within the Windows Start Menu - Programs - Enterprise Vault - Administration Console. This is a MMC with the appropriate snapins.

For version 5.0 you need to use a desktopsettings.ini.
