Version 8 w/sp4
When I enable a shared mailbox for archiving, none of the permissions that are already set get automatically applied to the archive mailbox. If I grant a user full access to the mailbox after it has been enabled for archiving, then that user is automatically added to the archive mailbox. Is this normal behavior. If so, it's going to be somewhat of a pain.
Thanks

have you tried sync'ing the mailbox after you enabled it?

Yes, try synching the mailbox including permissions

Refer the following document

mjkqb, were you able to resolve this issue?

No solution yet. Synchronizing does not bring down permissions that existed on a shared mailbox before enabling for archiving other than the permissions for the primary user account.

can you tell us what verison of exchange and how you're setting up the non-primary users' access for sharing?

Exchange 2007 sp1 roll-up10.
Permissions on shared mailboxes were first set up years ago in the Exchange 2003 system. The mailboxes were migrated to 2007 along with the permssions.

This can be closed.
Apparently, it does not work with inherited permissions unles confiured to do so.
