Maximum archiving limit?

Hi there, we are using EV 7.5 with Domino 7.0.2, is there a limit to the number of people you can select for archiving?  We have a 1000 item limit but are experiencing problems with archiving when we have more than 500 users?

many thanks for the response, I have logged a call for assistance as the archiving task bombs out, we get task guardian errors on the event viewer.  We think it may be a combination of the site schedule and the number of target items.  We have 1671 new mail files that need archving but archiving appears to loop after a while , and only do the same few users.  We do have the archiving task stop so we can perform some snapshot backups (45 mins) and we think that this is where the problem lies. We have also reduced the number of targets for 1000 to 250 to see if archiving complete, but still it bombs out.
