Our current EV partition / store is expanding and need to move it to a new storage device.
Based on the following article, we can only proceed to step 2 when the record count for Watchfile is zero. Under what circumstance the record count will become zero?
https://support.symantec.com/en_US/article.TECH35742.html
WeI have already copied the following folders from the existing SAN storage (H drive) to the new SAN storage (F drive).
DiscoverySearch, eDiscovery, Enterprise Valut Stores
Our plan is to swop the drive letters so that EV can continue with the partition & database that moved to F drive.
Please advise if we still can proceed to step 2 even if the record count for Watchfile is not zero.
Thanks

Hello Jade,
Why are yo performing this? Did the H-drive run to full diskusage?
If so, why do you not just add a new Enterprise Vault Store Partition in the store, and run that on the F-drive?
The document you refer to indicates that if you are on a version higher than 9.01, you do not need to update the itemname, and therefor do not need to have the watchfile to be 0.
Which EV version are you on?

Hi Gertjan
Thanks for your help. Our EV versions is 10.0.2.1112.
Yes, our H drive is running out of space. As advised by the vendor, it's easier to move the whole store to the new SAN storage instead of creating new partition.
For this case, can I proceed to step 2 without having to wait for the watchfile to be 0?

Jade

Hi Jade,
Seeing you are on EV10, the answer is yes.

Hi Gertjan
After we swop the drive letter, now the service is pointing to the new drive letter (F) being assigned to the old storage.
Please help!
Thanks.
