Hi
I think this topic has been covered previously, but I did get a bit lost in the technical detail :o)
My questions is bascially is it possible to configure the embedded link that appears in the shortcut preview pane (using the banner for customised shortcuts) to work via external OWA connections.
I've read that the OWA extentions no longer manage the translations, but it can be done via firewall rules (I think!)..... can someone clarify if this is the only way to achieve this as I read in prveious posts that varies edits of WebApp URLs may work too....
If this can only be done via Firewalls rules is there a good document on what this rule needs to consist of?
many thanks

The above link contains some information on link translation with ISA Server which may help you.

I noticed a smal foot note at the bottom:
"Note: The "view the original item" link embedded in customized (universal) shortcuts may not work because the link will contain the Enterprise Vault server's internal name. Double-clicking on the shortcut will retrieve the item."
This is precisely the bit I'm talking about - How can i get this bit working - is there anything more detailed about why this 'may not work'?.
By saying 'may' leads me to believe that there is perhaps something here that could be configured to make it work - but what is it and where??
many thanks

A bit more info on this.
In the OWA preview pane for archived items, when I hover over the "view the original item" banner link I can see it's looking to redirect me to
https://mail.mycompany.com/owa/redir.aspx?c=<blah>http%3a%2f%2fevserver1.internal.mycompany
So do this give any indication as to if I can translate this link so it works? If so where would I need to apply this translation
Thanks
K

Also check TMG logging. See if the request is passed through the TMG server, maybe the logs point you to something.

Many thanks
We have a juniper firewall so will need to take a look through that.
