OWA errors with Archive Explorer and Search Archives

I just installed the OWA backend servers extensions for Exchange 2003.  Everything appeared to be fine until I clicked the Archive Explorer menu item (happens with the Search Archives menu item as well) from within the OWA client.  I receive the following error:

"Unable to determine a web app url for vault access"

I've seen some posts on this and have tried all the suggestions, nothing has worked.  One of the last lines in my BackEnd2003Setup.wsf.log file says the following:

No current proxy settings found, error: -2147024894 Invalid root in registry key "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Connections\WinHttpSettings".

Is there a specific proxy entry I need to make?  I do not have a proxy server here.

Any help is appreciated.

you should have evservers.txt file - check that (all in the insall guide)

another quickie - goto a command prompt and type the following, then test

proxycfg -d -p "<local>" "<local>;*" - if this works there is something wrong wth your evservers.txt file
