Outlook always prompting to download offline vault

Enterprise Vault Issue

Symptom:

User gets prompted to download offline vault every time they open Outlook.

Notes:

Users mailbox is 1GB in size with 56,000 Items dating back to 2001

EV client wants to download 7GB of cache

During testing it took 5 hours to create an offline OST for Outlook so i suspect EV would take several days to download all content (and never finishes downloading for user)

Environment:

Windows XP SP3

Outlook 2003 SP3

EV Client 6.0.3.800

EV Server 2007 V7.5

Created a trace but it was 75MB in size!!!

Any ideas? Is it just due to the large size of vault and mailbox?

you should update the client to reflect the ev version you are using. and i think there were many fixes for offline vault from 6.0 to 2007.
