PST Migration - Server Driven

Does a user need to have Outlook closed in order to successfully migrate PSTs that are used by Outlook. I can't seem to find a reference to this but it is apparently what I am experiencing.

Thanks

To answer your question, yes the user must have Outlook closed or Outlook locks the PST and you will not be able to migrate it. Ideally, you should remove remove the PST from the users Outlook profile and then import it. The reason being, they will no longer need that PST after the import plus it prevents the user from stuffing more items into that PST after you've imported it.

Nue, you are correct. you will not be able to migrate a PST using the server driven method if a user has the PST open. The PST needs to be closed out. Outlook needs to be closed and re-opened in order for it to work.
