PST Migration and Shared Archives

Following a very helpful discussion at https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/ingesting-backup-exchange-server , I've now found myself having a bit of difficulty creating a shared archive that can be associated with a PST as a destination archive in the Personal Store  Management / Files section of the VAC.

I can specify the shared archive as a destination using the PST Migrator but when trying to do this in the VAC, the name of my shared archive doesn't appear.

I found PaulHod_TA's post at https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/shared-pst-files which seems to indicate that this might not be supported but was hoping someone would say this wasn't the case and that I'm just doing something wrong!

We're on EV8 SP4.

Many thanks,

Keith

we're doing something similar where i work and we import the PST's to a shared archive via EVPM, however be aware by default the Shared Archive is an "Unstructured" archive, meaning it does not retain the Folder Structure with in the PST file

You can tweak this in the database and have it create the folder structure but it has a number of side effects aside from the fact its not really supported or meant to work in that manner, but regardless it can be done via EVPM
