PST Server Migration auto migrate

Hi,

I have configured the PST Locator, Collector and Migrator Task.

The user PST have been scanned and found.

When I edit the PST, it still shows, "Do not migrate'.

However, on the end user machine, the PST has been migrated. What caused this to happen?

Thanks

Yobo,

Did you enable client-side pst migration?  If so then PSTs will be automatically migrated via this method although the status of  "do not migrate" should not be shown.  Make sure to refresh the PST list in the admin console (F5 or rt-clk and select refresh).

Hi,

From the Compute of the EVConsole, I did not select  "Enabled Client-side migration".

I'm doing only on this using server migration which make use of 3 task, locator, collector and migrator.

Pls advise.

I believe you are using Locate, Collect and Migrate Method rather than client side as this what you have stated.

So the PST has been located and collected, correct? Is it in the holding area then?

If it has not been collected then this will cause this issue.  Why it is then not on the client machine could be for alot of reasons, perhaps not even EV related, such as the user deleted it perhaps???

See the technotes below that may help you.

If you can reproduce the issue where you can see that EV is doing something wrong, i.e.e deleting the file and not copying it, which would purely depend on how you set up the processes and the options you have set in PST polices anyway, then you will need to log a case I would say.

Hi,

The PST has been located and collector. There is a PSTHolding area and PSTLOCAL
Do you mean the user workstation PST will copy to the Server PST Holding area? I do not see this at all?

Thanks

Yes, the Workstation PST File will copy to the PST Holding Area.

Is there a User/Owner Archive/Vault assigned to the PST File when you double click the File?

Cheers

Hi,

Thanks for the great help.

The PST server driven migration did not auto migrate. This was what the customer told me. Sorry for the confusion.

I found that the destination archive is not specify? Does this means that server driven migration need to manually specify for destination archive?  Is there a way to do it automaticaly.
What if the user access the PST Files and will the PST Migrator able to migrate?
Thanks

hi there is a setting in the policy called "mark pst" which will maek pst files to which mailbox they belong. this should help auto assigning.
