Restoring placeholder from Netapp snapshot

I am getting an access denied when I try to go into my netapp snapshot and restore a directory that contains EV placeholders.  The reason I believe is that the snapshot is read-only and when i try to copy the stuff out of the snapshot, EV will try to write to the snapshot, which it cannot do.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to get around this or am I doing something wrong?

I don't know if this will work, but you could try using EVFsaBackupmode.exe - this will stop the recall of placeholders happening so you should be able to restore the placeholders.
