Upgrade to EV 8.0 SP2 on new servers

Hello all,

I am working for a customer who has a Enterprise Vault 2007 server. They would like to upgrade to Enterprise Vault 8.0 SP2 on a new (virtualized) server.

I have found some information about how to do an 'in-place' migration 2007 to 8.0. However, we would like to install version 8.0 on a new server and move the data from the old server to the new server.
Is such as scenario possible, or do we need to upgrade the old server to version 8.0 first?

You need to do the upgrade first on the existing server.
