Upgrading to 7.5/2007 from previous versions

I have been asked by one of my colleagues what upgrade options there are for migrating an exisiting KVS/Enterprise Vault installation to EV2007. Has anyone done this before as I have only ever done new installs.

What are the gotcha's if any (and there ARE bound to be some knowing Symantec) and are there any strange pre-req's that I need to be aware of?

A good place to start is to read the UpgradeInstructions_EN.htm that is part of the zip files.

Literally as I received the email telling me of your response, I found the same document on CD1 of the media.

Thanks for taking the time to remind me how big a muppet I am ;)

And the Big Gotcha is........

 to upgrade to 2007 from a previous version you must first upgrade to 7.0

I would also document your policy settings before you upgrade and review following.  It seems that some of the values in the policy are added, reset, or removed.  See my other post.

Be aware that EV 7.5 seems to reset a lot of policy settings back to the default settings. Make sure you document your policies before upgrading.
