Hi Team,

User mails are not getting archived and some of the mails are in pending mode.

Performed the below steps for trouble shooting:

1) Exported the pst completly for backup

2) Disabled and re-enabled the user EV account.

3) Re-sync the mailbox

4) Manually archived the user accout

All the steps done, but still the mails are not getting archived and it is in pending mode.

Please let me know how to resolve such issues.

Regards,

Kamal

Not sure what you mean in your first step.

The backup EV is looking for is the Vault Store partition to be backed up and the DVS files have the archive attribute removed.  Have you backed up the Vault Store partition?

Firstly, what version of Enterprise Vault are you using?
What storage are the Enterprise Vault Store Partitions held on? (Centera, NTFS, NetApp etc?)
What method for safety copies are you using on the active partition? (After Backup or Immediately After Archiving?)
Are there any errors on the EV Server that the user is housed on?
Is Enterprise Vault in Backup/Read Only mode?

Have you verified by searching the archive that items are not being archived?  There a a couple initial steps you should review:

1)  Search archive to see if the items have actually been archived.

2) if the answer is yes, then you need to review your setting to see when the "safety copy" is being removed a) after backup or b) immediately after archive.

3)  If the configuration is set to "after backup", then you need to look at a couple other items.

     a) What is the storage platform (if it is a NAS you'll probably need to set up a "trigger file" which is referenced in the admin guide

    b) are backup actually happening on the vault store partitions?

Additional comment:  If you have set your "safety copy" setting to "after backup" you should also review you data management requirements to see if it is actually necessary.  This comment will create some discussion about the pros/cons of the safety copy, but it is just an additional layer of data protection that is not always necessary and creates addtional overhead in the post processing.
